Swedish Meatballs
Ingredients:
Meatballs:
1 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
2 tbsp melted butter
2/3 cup minced onion
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp ground allspice
Salt & Pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
3/4 lb ground beef
1/4 lb ground pork
2 large eggs, beaten
Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup heavy cream
Salt & Pepper
2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions:
In a large bowl add breadcrumbs. Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, allspice, salt, pepper. Cook about 5 minutes. Add the milk and worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer.
Pour milk mixture over breadcrumbs. Stir to make a thick paste. Let cool. Add the pork and beef, eggs, mix until well combined.
Coat baking sheet with cooking spray
Roll meat into 1 inch meatballs and place onto baking sheet. Refrigerate for 1 hour
Preheat over to 400 degrees. Bake meatballs 20 minutes.
Make the gravy:
Melt butter in large skillet over med heat. Add flour and cook. Whisking until smooth.
Whisk in broth, worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and meatballs. Reduce heat to med-low simmer until sauce thickens.
